I'd really like to use this picture, Lords of the Rings, Elendil and His Sons and possibly a few others in a youtube video I'm making. I would credit you with their creation. Do you mind if I do this?

I must say that it is interesting to see this drawing after viewing your more recent piece 'Numenoreans' for it gives the impression that Elendil the Tall and his kin have adapted after their transition from clement Westernesse to colder Middle-Earth (and in Elendil King's case quite literally let his hair down!).

Elendil the Tall and Gil-Galad are two of my favourite Kings in the length and breadth of the Appendices; I'm glad to see them shown here as they cement The Last Alliance (which incidentally I have come to suspect was sworn on the Seeing Stone of Amon Sul, so that it might swiftly become known across the lands of the Free Peoples that the greatest league since The Union of Maedhros was sworn and set upon it's task of throwing down the Dark Lord, no matter where he might hide and how well he fortified his hiding-place).

Beautiful composition, architecture and details. I love the hair ornaments and the way they interact differently with Gil-Galad and his companion's hair, very believably elven shorter hair.

Wow... this is really good! Without the title or description, I immediately felt "Lord of the Rings!" but I couldn't work out which bit... that makes sense now. Great detail, composition, everything!

You know, honestly the principle characters were an after thought. I really just wanted to sketch Amon Sul. The rest came about just to give it context. Still...it turned out pretty good.

The thing is that I' love this work very much! Thank you for paying attention to the second age which shouldn't be forgotten just because it wasn't described as well as the end of the third and the first.

There's so much material to draw inspiration from that it makes it easy to illustrate.

I don't really keep track of the time as I usually draw or paint when time permits. This was done over several weeks, along with the Minas Ithil piece.

This is pretty amazing work! It is full of details and is also very clean! When either drawings with pencils or charcoals, there's always a chance that the lines will be blurry and fuzzy; but here, everything is very neat!
The only thing I see that might need a look at is the erspective on te stair and floor where the herald is standing in front of Gil Galad but that's just talking about details. This is an outstanding work! I especially love the detail you put in each of their facial expressions and the attention you took on designing the clothes. Everything folds and creases so well!

It's all the little stuff that sells a piece for me. That's what I look for in other people's work and so that's what I put in mine. It's funny you say that it's so neat, since I'm so messy when it comes to drawings. I know the perspective is slightly skewed, I didn't do any roughs for this piece. I just started in the top left and finished bottom right. At least now I can see what to fix if I ever decide to paint this.

Nice line art and shading, but I wouldn't hold a sword like that - guy in the back with a crown? He is going to slice off his fingers :D

Yeah, one of those poses that doesn't work. Gotta adjust his hand next time around.

It might work if you rotate the sword so the blade points at the sky and the hand is holding the hilt. But I like the illustration anyway.:D

Alternatively you could show Elendil the Tall wearing a gauntlet, so that he might avoid the inevitable consequences of holding a sword by the sharp bit; it's also entirely possible that Narsil might be sharpened only at the point and a few inches below (as a thrusting, rather than a slashing sword).

I admit that I'm trying to defend the pose mostly because it makes sense to me ('Greetings to a Brother King' rather than 'Belligerent swagger'), but also because it's an unusual take on a slightly-cliche pose sufficient to refresh it.
