This is partially done. Don't if I'll finish this.
Very well done!
Oh my, this is remarkably similar to how I imagined it when I first read The Two Towers. Very nice!
Glad to see the author's vision, and not the one shown in the movie.
It looks more a like small city than the movie Minas Morgul.
It was a small city. Not only a fortified castle, but a community. This was Isildur's home, even though it was corrupted. I found the film version way too demonic.
Wow! I can't believe how detailed is it and I like the idea of Minas Ithil before it became Minas Morgul. It must have been so magnificent.. :')
I've been trying to add more to encompass the entire but I haven't been able to. Still a work in progress. You know these cities started off as the home away from home for Anarion and Isildur. So there needed to be a sense of Numenorean beauty to them before they evolved into fortresses and cities. Still, a nice exercise.
Nice castle and very well done.
¿What size paper did you use?
I almost can't imagine how long this must've taken, with the painstaking detail. Lovely, lovely, lovely! Very elegant and admirable, as I can't draw architecture myself! Minas Ithil must've been a beautiful sight before it was darkened.
I usually work on a few pieces at time so it doesn't seem like a long time, although I feel that this piece is still partially finished.
This is so impressive, if this is 'partially done', I can't imagine what it'll look like when it's finished. You should be so proud of this, it must have taken so much time, its so detailed!
Please do so, looks amazing already
wow, just wow!
This is a great drawing. I write fanfiction about the Nazgul and I'm always interested to see how other people see Minas Ithil/Morgul. I don't like the movie version - it's too close to the river. I see the city looking more like the movie version of Minas Tirith, with buildings and layers following the mountain's curves and ledges. You achieve this effect in this drawing.
This is really great so far. Can't wait till its finished, it will be spectacular.
very good job!!But i have a question for you:you've doned this from your own imagination,or from a picture?I'm asking you this because in the movie,Minas Ithil(Tower of the Moon) isn't very known as Minah Ithil, but as Tower of Black Sorcery(:
It's from imagination, but I tend to use lots of reference photos to make sure things look real and believable. The movie is only capturing the end of this city, but there was a beginning. This is Isildur's city and it should reflect the power and majesty that Minas Anor, his brother Anorien's city. I only started this after I finished Minas Tirith as I became curious what this would look like.
Very nice work as it stands.
You accidentaly a word there
It looks VERY good so far
If I ever had to draw Minas Morgul, I would need to see what it would have looked like before. I also wanted to get closer to the city than I did in the Minas Tirith painting.
It's really how I imagin it!
i like middle part an upper one...think the bottom needs more environment things to add.... thats my opinion
Yeah. Much more to be done before I'm completely satisfied. This drawing is still growing. I have a panel on the left and another on the right. It should feel like a more fully realized city.
Very pretty~ @.@
certainly looks much nicer there than in the films...
John Howe's version is very powerful, but it has a sinister air about it that clashes with the city's origins. This is growing, btw. I'm curious about where I will call an end to it.
It's so well made!
very fine work!
